The rooms of the Research Centre for Historical Visual Media

The archive of school wall charts measures 400 m2. The roll-up and flat charts are stored in the open space complex of the former elementary school on Campus Hubland Nord (Emil-Fischer-Str. 62). The visitors are presented with an impressive image.

The Research Centre for Historical Visual Media’s collection allows an impressive documentation of the history of school wall charts in the German-speaking area from 1840 till 1990. The charts are from all subjects: from religion to geography, from history to astronomy. Due to this broad spectrum, the research center offers source materials for interdisciplinary research projects.
